Since its inception, Webb Structural Services has provided comprehensive engineering design services for residential construction, multi-family development, light commercial projects, and historic renovations.
We pride ourselves on keeping current with the latest building trends and technology while incorporating the time honored concepts of building construction and renovation. We search for the right engineering solution given a project’s specific set of circumstances. This starts with understanding the project scope, the architect’s or designer’s vision of the final product, the owner’s expectation of work scope as it relates to budget, and finally, the strengths of the contractors performing the work. For renovation work, it is equally important to gain a full understanding of existing conditions so that the final design can integrate with the existing structure in a cohesive and complementary manner.
Our drawing production utilizes traditional Autodesk software. Dictated by project needs, we develop our structural drawings using 3D REVIT. We have fully embraced the benefits of 3D modeling and employ REVIT on most projects, even if the architectural drawings are developed using 2D software. The feedback we receive from the design team and builders is overwhelmingly positive when we embed our 3D images into the drawing set and collaborate using the interactive 3D PDF files. However, 2D AutoCAD still has its place, and we utilize it on certain projects as appropriate.
Webb Structural Services’ integral project involvement does not end with the completion of the construction documents. We enjoy seeing our design constructed; we consider this a valuable phase in the engineering process, just as important as the design phase. As construction commences, we make every effort to ensure that we have an open dialogue with the construction team. We appreciate the scheduling importance after construction has begun and endeavor to respond to field issues in a timely manner.
